Despite the excellent straight-line stability of the scubis due to the combination of the keel linkage and flexible floor, there are one or two situations where a steering system can help:

For example, in strong crosswinds, swell, solo operation/low payload, smaller rivers, sailing, …

In these cases, with the steering system installed, the arms can continue to concentrate on paddling and the legs can keep the course. When not in use / landing the rudder blade can be easily caught up.

The simple and ingenious construction can be mounted with a few simple steps and can be individually adjusted to the leg length. The installation of the rudder cables is done once and can remain in/on the boat for transport.
